Medical Cannabis Evaluation Process in Kentucky
- Step 1: Schedule an Appointment
Book an in-person consultation with one of our licensed providers to discuss your medical history and symptoms. Telehealth is not currently accepted for initial certification evaluations per Kentucky law.
- Step 2: Complete Your Evaluation
During your visit, the provider will assess whether you meet criteria for a qualifying condition (e.g., chronic pain, PTSD, epilepsy, cancer, multiple sclerosis). If eligible, a written certification will be submitted to the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program within 24 hours.
- Step 3: Register Online with the State
Within 60 days of your evaluation, visit the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Portal to:
- Create a patient account
- Accept your written certification
- Upload a notarized signature page
- Pay the $25 application fee (credit card or ACH)
- Create a patient account
- Step 4: Receive Your Registry ID Card
Once approved, you'll receive a digital ID card (available in your patient portal) within 5 business days. This ID is required to legally purchase medical cannabis at licensed dispensaries.
